Galway ended Waterford's hopes of a Division 1 camogie league semi final at a blustery WIT Arena this afternoon as they prevailed by 1-14 to 1-6.
Carrie Dolan sent over eight dead balls and Ailish O'Reilly fired a second half goal for the Tribeswomen. Beth Carton scored six points for the Déise and set up a goal for substitute Kaiesha Tobin on 29 minutes but Galway pulled away in the second half with the wind at their backs.
Waterford manager Donal O'Rourke conceded that his team were overpowered today. "Physicality was the major issue for me. It had a big bearing on the game, Galway are a very strong side."
