The Waterford footballers will seek their first win in Division 4 of the National league when they welcome Derry to Fraher Field on Sunday afternoon.

Despite battling performances in the opening two rounds, the Déise have lost out to Wicklow and Limerick.

Derry who won the All-Ireland title in 1993 have dropped down the divisions over the last numer of the years and they'll be keen to make a swift return to Division 3 for next season.

Despite defeat in the opening two rounds, Déise boss Benji Whelan says he's pleased with the attitude and application of his players to date.

Benji says there'll be plenty of game time for the new players during the remainder of the league.

Listen back to Benji Whelan's interview from last Monday's "On The Ball" where he said it was a disappointing dressing room after the Limerick game, but they're fully focused now ahead of the Derry challenge this weekend.
