Olympian Thomas Barr was named the 2018 overall winner of the Park Hotel Waterford Supreme Sports Star award last night in Dungarvan's Park Hotel.
The Ferrybank AC man qualified thanks to winning the August award, following his bronze medal performance at the 400 metre hurdles in the 2018 European Athletics Championships in Berlin.
It's his third time claiming the overall award.
Bríd Golden of Ferrybank AC accepted the award on behalf of Thomas, she told WLR Sport that "it was fantastic for Thomas, it's a huge acknowledgment of his brilliant performance in Berlin last August".
Olympian John Treacy was the guest speaker last night.
