Ballygunner crowned Club of the Year at Waterford GAA Awards

A crowd of up to 300 people attended the Local Bar sponsored Waterford GAA Awards at Lawlor's Hotel in Dungarvan last night.

Ballygunner came away with Club of the Year, while club man Pauric Mahony was crowned Adult Hurler of the Year.

The Gunners made it a fifth county Senior Hurling Championship in a row last year and captured their second Munster hurling championship title, their first since 2001. They also won the Division One County Minor Hurling Championship last season.

Young Hurler of the Year: Michael Kiely (Abbeyside)

Special Achievement Award: Thomas Keane (Sliabh gCua / St. Mary’s)

Special Merit: Tina Meagher (Ballysaggart)

Special Schools Award: St. Declan’s, Kilmacthomas

Special Achievement to Development: St. Molleran’s

Special Achievement to officiating: Pat Power (Fourmilewater)

Special Achievment: Ardmore – on winning the All-Ireland Junior club hurling Championship
