Waterford suffered a 1-8 to 0-8 loss to Cavan in the Division 2 semi final at a blustery St Brendan’s Park in this afternoon.
Catherine Dolan’s goal four minutes into the second half ultimately proved the difference in a tense encounter.
Maria Delahunty scored five points for the Déise but Aisling Doonan and Bronagh Sheridan guided Cavan to a final meeting with Tipperary on May 6.
Waterford manager Pat Sullivan admitted that it was a below par performance.
He said that they must regroup for the Munster semi final against Kerry.
The team will remain in camp for the next couple of weeks before returning to their clubs.
