Donie Breathnach shot a late equaliser as An Rinn and Kilrossanty finished all square at Fraher Field last night (0-7 each).

Breathnach scored four points in total while Donal Fitzgerald notched three from play for Kilrossanty. The sides were level five times over the sixty minutes.

In the curtain raiser, goals from Tom Looby and Neil Montgomery gave a youthful Ballinacourty a 2-14 to 0-4 victory against Brickey Rangers.

Meanwhile, The Nire survived a second half scare from Clashmore to emerge 6-5 to 1-10 winners at a windswept Ardmore yesterday.

Tom and Jamie Barron got their marching orders from Pat Casey on a second bookable offences in the third quarter but Dick Guiry's charges finished strongly to pick up their first victory.

Four goals in thirteen minutes gave them a 4-3 to 0-5 advantage at the break. Conor Gleeson netted twice while Tholum Guiry and Shane O'Meara also got in on the act.

A green flag from Clashmore defender Shane Russell left them only two points down with nine minutes remaining. Late goals from Craig Guiry and O'Meara wrapped up the contest.

Nire full forward Conor Gleeson said it was a hard earned win.

Shane Walsh kicked the Nire's first point of the second half on 58 minutes and Gleeson said that it was a vital score.

Selector Tom Guiry didn't have any complaints with the two dismissals.

The Nire shot 13 wides and Guiry says that they will need to be more ruthless against Brickey Rangers next weekend.
