Waterford FC cruised into Round 2 of the EA Sports Cup when they defeated UCL 4-1 at the RSC last night.
Goals from John Martin, Sander Puri and Derek Daly had the Blues leading 3-0 at the break.
The Cork college pulled a goal back through Ronan Hennessy on 55 minutes.
Izzy Akinade scored a fourth for the Blues on 66 minutes. His looping header sailed over the head of the UCC keeper after a John Kavanagh cross.
Waterford FC will now play Cork City at the RSC in the next round on Easter Monday.

Elsewhere, a James English brace helped Shelbourne to a 3-nil win away to Bray Wanderers.
While Bohemians came from behind to trounce Cabinteely 5-1. Bohs will discover their second round opponents tonight, with the winners of the meeting of Athlone and UCD visiting Dalymount on Easter Monday.
