Waterford recorded their first win in Division 1A of the National Hurling League when they defeated Cork in Pairc Ui Chaoimh.
The Deise men led 1-12 to 1-9 at half time. Patrick Horgan raised a green flag for Cork on 20 minutes but shortly afterwards Michael Kearney scored a goal for Waterford.
The main talking point of the first half was a straight red card for the Cork captain Seamus Harnedy.
Playing against the 14 men Waterford knocked over eight points in the second half compared to Cork's six.
Final score was Waterford 1-20 Cork 1-15
