Waterford made a winning return to the Premier League when they came from behind to defeat Derry City at the RSC last night.
The home side started brightly, on a wet, miserable, evening in front of a capacity crowd, however Derry scored the opening goal on 19 minutes. Aaron McEneff whipped in a left-wing shot to Armin Aganovic who got past keeper Niall Corbet with a close range header.
Waterford drew level with just minutes to go in the first half. Bastian Héry and Rory Feely set up Gavan Holohan who fired a shot beneath Derry's Ger Doherty and into the net.
The game's winning goal arrived in the 77th minute. Stanley Aborah back-heeled the ball to Garry Comerford down the left before crossing where Dean O'Halloran hammered home from close-range.
