Fraher Field will be able to accommodate 3,600 supporters for Sunday's National Hurling League opener between Waterford and Dublin.

The capacity was confirmed at last night's county board meeting in Dungarvan after secretary Pat Flynn held talks with Croke Park in recent days.

"Bureaucracy gone mad," remarked Stradbally delegate Tom Cunningham during the meeting. "There were 9,000 people at a Munster Under 21 semi final against Tipperary in 2009. That's crazy to only have that amount. People will be disappointed."

Tickets are now on sale online. Waterford clubs bought 537 tickets last week. A thousand season ticket holders between both counties will also be facilitated.

A new disability area in the stand will be open on Sunday at the Dungarvan venue. Vice-chairman Neil Moore also asked kids to stay off the pitch at half time due to the high volume games in Fraher Field over the coming months.
