The Deise hurling manager has revealed that Michael ‘Brick’ Walsh returns to the hurling panel for 2018.
Walsh who will turn 35 next year had one of his finest seasons to date this year - winning his fourth All-Star and his tenth county senior football medal just two weeks ago with his native Stradbally.
Speaking to Dermot Keyes on last night's GAA Blaa, Derek McGrath said the influential player will commit to next season:
"Unlike some dual players..not only does he love where he's from, he really likes the other aspect to the football...the physicality of it..it's very easy to sustain his fitness then over the winter while he's with Stradbally. Michael loves winning more than anything else and that's the mentality he brings to our team."
Derek says the Stradbally man is finally starting to get the credit he deserves on the national stage:
"At last he's beginning to get the credit nationally he deserves...for me he's the best team player who's ever played with Waterford."
