Ardmore were crowned Munster Club Junior hurling champions for the first time yesterday as they saw off Tipperary champions Ballybacon-Grange in a game that was full of talking points in Mallow.

Despite finishing with 12 men, the Waterford champions showed tremendous character to grind out a hard fought win.

Ardmore held a 1-17 to 1-16 lead ath half-time but started the second period with 13 men following the first half dismisals of Wayne Hennessey and Jack Walsh.

However, despite these losses Ardmore produced a stunning second half and began to gain a foothold in the game.
