Stephen Bennett shot 2-8 as the Déise hurlers made it back to back wins in Division 1(A) of the Allianz hurling League this afternoon following a 3-18 to 1-15 win away to Westmeath.
The visitors stamped their authority on the game from an early juncture in Cusack Park, and held a 3-10 to 0-6 lead at half-time having played with wind advantage in the opening period.
Stephen Bennett worked the scoreboard early on hitting two goals along with another from Jack Fagan with Darragh Lyons also on target with two neat points from play as the home side struggled to get into the contest.
Westmeath did improve upon the resumption and hit some fine scores, with Kieran Doyle and Alan Devine. Niall Mitchell who impressed for the home side blasted past Billy Nolan following a good team move.
Waterford hit late scores through Stephen Bennett, and captain Pauric Mahony got on the score-sheet following his introduction as a second half substitute.

Elsewhere this afternoon, champions Limerick overcame Galway by 1-19 to 14 points at the Gaelic Grounds.
In Group B, Clare edged Wexford by 18 points to 15 at Wexford Park,
Dublin had the measure of Laois by 4-18 to 2-17 at Parnell Park
And Kilkenny were easy 3-21 to 9 point winners over Carlow at Netwatch Cullen Park.

Meanwhile, the Waterford footballers suffered a 2-11 to 1-6 defeat at the hands of Wicklow in their Division 4 league encounter this afternoon in Aughrim.
Darragh Corcoran netted for Benji Whelan's side in the opening half as the home side held an 0-8 to 1-1 advantage at half-time.
Wicklow upped the pace in the 2nd-period and goals from Eoin Darcy and Chris O' Brien propelled the home side to a 2-11 to 1-6 as the Déise never made headway up front.
It's a home tie against Wexford next weekend for Waterford on Saturday night in Fraher Field (7 pm throw-in).
