The Waterford footballers lost to thirteen man Limerick by 1-10 to 0-10 in their Division 4 opener at Fraher Field last night.

Adrian Enright fisted in the crucial goal on sixteen minutes for the Shannonsiders who had Paul Maher and Robert Childs sent off in the second half.

Jason Curry converted five placed balls for Waterford while captain Conor Murray kicked three points from play.

Deise manager Benji Whelan felt that Limerick were more clinical on the night.
