The Symphony Club of Waterford has a packed schedule of orchestral music for the year ahead.

The Symphony Club of Waterford (affectionately known as SKOW) has been running for many years now and aims to bring quality music to the Deise, as often as possible.  Over the years orchestras from all over the world have travelled to perform under the Symphony Club's programme. The next gig is at WIT Arena on April 6th, when the RTE National Symphony Orchestra will perform.  You can see more about what goes on at the arena, here

Making chamber music accessible

PRO for SKOW Liam Daly dropped into me in studio On the Fringe. He says the ongoing aim of the Symphony Club of Waterford is encourage young people to try chamber music and appreciate the brilliance of a live orchestra. He tells that a of the music is more familiar to people than they might realise. He's happy that numbers of people attending the events have increased in recent years.

A busy calender for the year ahead

Liam tells me that they've a packed schedule and all of their concerts for 2019 will take place at the WIT Arena. If you like music-related interviews on WLR, have a listen to Jean and Ellenor Upton of the Waterford Centre of Music speak to me On the Fringe about their plans
