It was a busy week On the Fringe with festival season in full swing. We're spoiled for choice here in the Deise and this is reflected in the most recent airing of my arts and culture programme.

First up, A Taste of Waterford is back for the second year. This is a novel fundraiser in aid of the housing charity Tinteán. Over four Wednesdays, July 17th, 24th, 31st and August 7th, people will be taken on a walking tour of Waterford by Tadhg Williams, who'll give a flavour of the City's rich history. And speaking of flavour, there will be several stops at restaurants along the way, finishing up in a bar! Claire O'Sullivan, Manager of Tinteán joined me to tell me more. Have a listen here...

The Comeraghs Wild festival is also making its return, running this year from July 11th to 14th and with a jam-packed and eclectic line up as always. You can find out details of the full programme here.

One of the big highlights this year will undoubtedly be a performance at Mahon Falls on July 12th of Don Mescall and the Mount Sion Choir. Don joined me for a chat On the Fringe and you can listen here...

Theatre Royal Waterford has a bumper line up for the summer. One of the must-sees for fans of the stage is Joxer Daly Esq with Phelim Drew the star of this one-man-show. The character was originally in the Seán O'Casey play Juno and the Paycock  and he lives on here through this play by Eddie Naughton. It runs at Theatre Royal from July 4th and 5th, and again from July 18th to 25th. You can find out more here.

Ahead of all that, Phelim Drew spoke to me On the Fringe..

And last but certainly not least, I love a good chat with an author On the Fringe. Dorian Van Braam, who lives in Fiddown, came into studio to discuss his first published novel The Wild Geese and North East Wind, but as he tells me, it's certainly not the first book he's written. Have a listen below to our chat..
