Waterford Walls will return for 2020, starting on July 13th

Waterford Walls is back for 2020, with a number of changes planned to make sure people can enjoy the annual festival in safety. It will extend over a much longer period and for the first time, art work will be produced along the Greenway.

The Comeraghs: Gunfire and Civil War: the story of the Deise Brigade IRA 1914-1924 by Seán  and Síle Murphy has had a virtual re-launch and re-publication, thanks to Waterford County Museum. The book is available to buy online through Amazon.

I spoke to Seán Murphy about the book, and the research that went into writing it.

Covid19 restrictions didn't stop choirs all over Waterford, Ireland and the world from performing, albeit in new ways, and singers from WIT Music School were no exception.

The WIT Youth Choir, comprising 50 secondary school pupils from around the South East, have recorded a song called North, by the band Sleeping at Last, in memory of former choir member Karl Kirby who sadly died last June.  You can view it on YouTube here...

Niall Crowley, conductor, singing teacher and lecturer at WIT explained to me how they made the video, as well as chatting about how students have been managing during the restrictions.
