An International Women's Day Festival runs in Waterford this year from March 3rd to 8th. It's been organised by The Women's Centre which is celebrating 25 years working with women in Waterford.

A number of events take place over the few days - one of which is the dedication of a Civic Trust Blue Plaque to the Daly family who provided a café for homeless men at number 5 Arundel Lane from 1911 - 1982.  When attempts to evict the sisters Mai and Debbie were made in 1971 the Waterford community came out to support and stop the eviction of the sisters.
