Hollywood was dropped to streaming giant Netflix on May 1st. It looks at the post World War II era of Hollywood, and the lengths people were willing to go, to make it in 'Dreamland' as it was known. Maria is especially interested in that old 'Golden Era' of cinema, so she gives her thoughts on the series and tells some stories of her own about how actors and actresses were treated.

An online lecture about Waterford playwright Teresa Deevy is happening today, May 13th at 2.30pm. It's been organised over Zoom by Waterford Libraries as part of the Bealtaine Festival online. The lecture will be delivered by Dr Una Kealy of the School of Humanities in WIT. Una joined me on the line with more details..
WLR’s compelling Radio Drama series Youthquake is back, and kicked off on-air on 21st April.
The five half hour radio plays have been developed, and are performed by students from St Augustines college Dungarvan, Ursuline Convent, De La Salle college and Newtown school.
Before the restrictions, the group of students took part in six weeks of workshops coordinated by Liam Meagher. Over the six weeks the storylines, scripts and language of the plays were teased out, to best reflect what life is like for teenagers in Waterford in 2020.
