Blackwater Eco Tours is a community established social enterprise that offers eco pod accommodation, river activities and walking trails in the Blackwater River Valley based in Villierstown, Co. Waterford (just 15 mins from Dungarvan).
They have 4 Eco Pods located at the centre of the village. Each pod can accommodate 4 adults or a family of 5 and contain a kitchenette, shower and toilet. The pods also have a picnic area and BBQ facilities.
Just a few minutes from the pods is Villierstown Quay and Boat House where you can explore the natural beauty of the Blackwater River on their scheduled tours twice a day Thursday to Sunday on their exciting self-drive boats (skipper one of their boats yourself) as well as kayaking and canoeing.
Blackwater Eco Tours’ aim is to promote Villierstown and West Waterford as a unique ecotourism destination, providing a unique outdoors holiday experience while supporting the local community.
The Blackwater River is designated a Special Area of Conservation, with unique habitats and wildlife. The river also has incredible history and heritage. On the tours you’ll learn about both from the experienced local tour guides.

Each day on The Big Breakfast Blaa, you can win 1 of 5 passes for a river tour for two people.
Then at the end of the week, if you're a qualifier, you'll be added into the draw to win an overnight stay for a family of 4 in one of the Blackwater Eco Tour Eco Pods, plus a river tour with activities such as kayaking and canoeing.
