The first Youth Assembly on Climate is taking place in the Dáil today.

157 young people aged 10 to 17 have been selected to discuss what Ireland needs to do to tackle climate issues.

They'll present their proposals to the nation live on RTÉ and Oireachtas TV.

The delegates attending the assembly represent all 26 counties, with three from Waterford.

A survey this week found 88 per cent of Irish people believe the earth is getting warmer as a result of climate disruption.
