A man has been charged in connection with the death of another man in Youghal.

32-year-old Daniel O’Sullivan died after an assault at a bar on the Main Street in Youghal on Monday night.

The investigation was upgraded to murder last night after a post mortem on his body was carried out.

A man in his 20s presented himself to Gardaí in the hours after the incident.

He’s now been charged and is due before Midleton District Court this morning.

A statement reads: “Gardaí continue to investigate all of the circumstances surrounding the death of a man following a fatal assault that occurred in Youghal, Co. Cork on Monday night, 14th April 2025. The male, in his 20s, arrested in connection with this investigation has since been charged. He is expected to appear before Midleton District Court this morning, Wednesday 16th April 2025.”
