A status yellow wind warning has been issued for Waterford, Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan, and Tipperary.
Met Éireann says isolated thunderstorms are possible as well as strong gusts from 2pm to 7pm.
That warning will run alongisde a status yellow rain warning for Munster and Galway for a short time - it is in effect at the moment, until 3pm.
