Met Éireann has issued a Yellow Rainfall warning for Waterford valid from 12pm Wednesday to 12pm Thursday.

There is an Orange Rainfall Warning for Cork and Kerry from 12pm Wednesday to 12pm Thursday when there will be persistent rain, heavy at times, accompanied by strong onshore winds, high tides, and elevated river levels.

Flooding is expected as well as wave overtopping and difficult travelling conditions.

The Road Safety Authority (RSA) is asking road users to exercise caution while using the roads on Wednesday and Thursday.

Due to predicted high tides, flood barriers in Passage East will be closed on Wednesday until approximately 9am.

Passage East Car Ferry will not be able to operation until barriers are open.
