Met Éireann has issued a Yellow Rain Warning for Waterford.

It's valid from 6:00 pm this evening until 12 noon tomorrow (Friday). Met Éireann is warning for spot flooding, poor visibility, and difficult travelling conditions.

Cathal Nolan from Ireland's Weather Channel says Waterford in particular will experience heavy rainfall.

"Outbreaks of heavy and persistent rain will develop across the south coast later this evening and overnight, with some localised heavy falls of rain possible.

"Rainfall amounts of 30-40mm are possible over a large area of Cork, Waterford, and Wexford, with up to 50mm of rain possible over higher ground in Waterford and Cork in particular.
"Localised flooding overnight and into tomorrow morning, in particular, will be of concern, especially for motorists making their morning commutes and rural upland communities."
