A woman was airlifted to hospital this evening following a road traffic collision in County Waterford.

The young woman, a pedestrian in her 20’s, was struck by a truck as she crossed the road on the outskirts of Dungarvan.

It happened in the Coolagh area of The Burgery at around 6.50pm.

She sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was brought by Air Corps helicopter to Cork University Hospital for treatment.

Gardai are investigating the crash and witnesses are asked to contact Dungarvan Garda Station on 058 48600.
