A woman aged in her 20s has died following a road traffic collision this morning in Co Wexford.
The two-car collision occurred shortly before 6 o'clock this morning on the New Line Road (R733) and was attended by gardaí and emergency services.
The woman, the driver of one of the cars, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body has since been removed to the local mortuary at Wexford Hospital where a postmortem will take place at a later date.
The driver of the second car, another woman aged in her 60s, was taken to Wexford General Hospital to undergo treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
There were no other injuries reported.
The road currently remains closed according to gardaí, with forensic collision investigators carrying out examinations.
Officers are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward, and for any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the area between 5.30 am and 6 am to make this footage available.
