Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a Fatal Road Traffic collision that occurred at Curraghgraigue, Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford, on Saturday afternoon 24th May 2025.  

Gardaí and emergency services responded to reports of the collision involving a car and a pedestrian, which occurred on the R702 at approximately 3 pm.  

The pedestrian, aged in her late 20s, was removed from the scene in a serious condition to Wexford General Hospital, where she later passed away.  

The male driver of the car, aged in his 20s, received medical assessment at the scene.   

The road was closed for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, but has now reopened.  

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward.  

It brings to three the number of lives lost on the roads in the last 24 hours.

Another pedestrian, in her 60s, died following a crash involving a car in Ashbourne in County Meath shortly after 7 o’clock yesterday evening.

A cyclist in her 70s was killed following a collision with a tractor in Tulla, County Clare, just before midday.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area (Curraghgraigue, Enniscorthy) between 2.30 pm and 3.30 pm on Saturday, 24th May 2025, are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
