Listeners continue in their thousands to tune in WLR News and Sport on the hour and the results confirm the demand from Waterford listeners for a top-class local news service.

Many of WLR’s destination music programmes also recorded major increases in this period including, The Saturday Cafe with Maria McCann and The Lunchbox with Geoff Harris.

The station's Sunday listenership figures have also risen, reflected by the numbers of people tuning into programmes such as Sean's Sunday Sunrise and Timmy Ryan on Sunday.

WLR is also recording a major increase in female listenership, and is now the leading station in Waterford for the 20-44 year-old group.
