703 entries were received in 2021, the largest number in over five years. A team of judges spent last week on Zoom calls with head judge, respected industry consultant Peter McPartlin, coordinating the shortlist.

Speaking about the shortlist and 21 st birthday year, Chair of the IMRO Radio Awards committee Chris Doyle said “I’m delighted that with the support of our title sponsor IMRO we have been able to host the awards again in 2021.  The amazing number of entries shows how important the IMRO Radio Awards are to the industry.  With uncertainty around physical events, the awards will be virtual again this year, but it promises to be an excellent show as always.”

When are the IMROs happening?

The Awards will be handed out virtually at an event to be held on Friday 1st October 2021 with Dermot Whelan on hosting duties.

Best of luck to all, and fingers crossed for the crew at WLR.
