Millions of people are expected to line the streets nationwide today to celebrate St Patricks day,

Locally there are parades taking place in Waterford City, Portlaw, Clashmore/kinsalebeg, Cappoquin, Tramore and Dungarvan

WLR will be out and about covering the 6 parades across Waterford as they happen.

The first parades of the day will take place in Portlaw as well as in Clasmore/Kinsalebeg which will be celebrating its 5th annual parade. The festivities in both areas are starting at 12 midday.

The next parade will be starting in Cappoquin at 12:30.

The WLR team attending those parades and talking to those at the heart of the festivities.

The biggest celebration takes place in Waterford city with the main parade starting at 1pm, With Ollie and Dymphna from the Big Breakfast Blaa expected to MC the main event.

Next up is the Tramore Parade at 1:30pm, with residents expected to line the streets of the seaside town for the festivities.

And the parade with the latest start of the day will be in Dungarvan which starts at 2pm.
