Members of West Waterford Golf Club, got together last night and purchased the Dungarvan course which was up for auction.
The Irish Golf Desk reports that members bought the site for a fee of €1.25m.
Yesterday afternoon the facility failed to reach the reserve price of €1.2 million during an online auction.
But talks between Auctioneers Colliers and the parties involved to discuss its sale continued into the night and an agreement was susbsequently reached.

West Waterford Golf Club say that process is still ongoing and a statement on the purchase will be issued this afternoon.
