The well-known Holy Cross Bar outside Waterford City is up for sale.

The popular Butlerstown establishment has been run by Bobby and Eileen Bohill for over thirty years who have now decided to retire.

Local agent Purcell Properties and Lisneys of Dublin have jointly been appointed and the property will be formally marketed in the coming weeks.

The venue has enjoyed a strong food and beverage trade and has been a popular location for private functions.

It is located by Butlerstown GAA Club and close to the IDA Business and Technology Park and UPMC Whitfield.

Speaking to WLR News, a spokesperson for Purcell Properties said: "Considerable interest is expected as a pub of this stature has not been brought to the market locally for a long time".

The venue, which can accommodate 140 patrons and has parking for approximately 150 cars, has a guide price of €700,000.

"The Holy Cross offers excellent potential for further expansion and development," the spokesperson added.
