A Status Yellow weather warning for heavy rain remains in effect for six counties this morning.

Waterford, Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow and Cork will experience heavy rain until the alert concludes at noon.

Met Éireann say the rain could lead to localised flooding, difficult travel conditions and poor visibility in the affected counties.
