This year’s Waterford Business Awards take place on Friday, 8th March in the Tower Hotel Waterford, where over 30 businesses from across Waterford City and County will be recognised for their excellence in a variety of categories, from Customer Service and Retail Excellence, to Entrepreneur of the Year and Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility. Each day on Déise Today on WLR, a different category is featured, with interviews with the shortlisted businesses airing across the show. Today’s category is Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility sponsored by CPL Resources. The winner, chosen by an independent panel of judges, will be announced at the Waterford Business Awards gala ceremony in The Tower Hotel Waterford on Friday, 8th March.

A trusted partner to the world’s top pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies—working by their side to improve patient health, West recently expanded its global manufacturing operations to include a new site in Waterford. The new facility will produce packaging components for injector cartridges and other high-value packaging components, to meet growing demand from pharmaceutical and biotech customers.

GSK in Dungarvan produces a variety of ‘over-the-counter’ pharmacy and oral care products and is the global home of Panadol. Around 6.5 billion Panadol tablets are produced in Dungarvan each year – that’s 150 Panadol tablets a second – exporting to over 70 countries worldwide.
GSK Dungarvan employees 735 people and supplies markets covering USA, Europe, Africa, Latina, Mid East, Asia, Japan and ANZ with over 600 finished products SKUs. The site supports approx £750m of sales across the Panadol and Poligrip / Polident brands. Products manufactured in Dungarvan account for approx 10% of all GSK Consumer Healthcare sales.
