Killure Bridge Nursing Home celebrated a momentous achievement at the NHI Care Awards 2024, held on November at the Mansion House, Dublin. The event, in association with Homecare Medical, honoured the dedication and compassion of nursing home staff across Ireland.
The spotlight shone brightly on the CARU Group at Killure Bridge Nursing Home, who were recognised for their exceptional contributions to end-of-life care. The team -comprising Roshen Kuriakose (CNM), Muriel Grogan (Staff Nurse), Shauna Morrissey (Staff Nurse), and Shane Mason (Healthcare Assistant) - have set a benchmark for compassionate, person-centered care, significantly enhancing the quality of life for residents and their families.
Established in April 2024, the CARU Group at Killure Bridge Nursing Home has already had an impact on residents, families, and colleagues. With combined experience ranging from two to twelve years, the team works to provide compassionate care that prioritises dignity and respect at every stage of life.
The CARU Group is actively involved in educating and training staff, facilitating end-of-life reviews, and developing resources to enhance care delivery within the nursing home. Supported by Director of Care Mary Burke and Assistant Director of Care Stuart Kinsella, the CARU Group has become a cornerstone of excellence, compassion, and innovation in their field.
