A weather warning issued by Met Éireann earlier today for Waterford has been upgraded to Orange level.
The alert for heavy rainfall will come into effect from 11pm tonight.
The forecaster is also warning that embedded thunderstorms will likely cause flooding.
Tipperary, Cavan, Monaghan, and all of Leinster will also be under this Status Orange alert until 7am tomorrow (Friday, October 28th).
Drivers are being urged to take caution on the roads while a marine warning is also in effect until 7pm on Saturday evening as south or southeast winds will reach force 6 or higher at times on all Irish coasts.
