
Funding of €257,538 has been allocated to allow local social enterprises to expand their vital services. Eight projects in Waterford will benefit from the Dormant Accounts Fund Growing Social Enterprise Fund.
Social enterprises play a role in creating jobs, addressing social challenges, and fostering a more inclusive society.
The purpose of this fund is to provide capital grant support to assist social enterprises across Ireland in achieving their social, environmental, or economic objectives.
Nationwide, €4 million is being invested in social enterprises to be used for building works, repairs, refurbishments, or for the purchase of new machinery, vehicles, or equipment.

Treo Port Lairge CLG – €12,500
To fund updates to the indoor and outdoor community spaces to create a sustainable and dynamic space that can adapt to a variety of activities, from corporate meetings to workshops and community events. -
Cappoquin Community Development CLG – €7,635
To fund the purchase of essential cleaning and maintenance equipment to increase efficiencies. -
Tourin Community Company Ltd – €12,608
To fund the purchase of a PA system and improvements to the IT department of the organisation to make the enterprise more sustainable and efficient. -
The Shona Project – €4,842.35
To fund the purchase of new laptops and equipment to enhance the organisation’s operational efficiency, enabling them to better educate and empower girls across Ireland. -
Dungarvan Care of the Aged Company Limited By Guarantee – €11,907
To fund the installation of solar panels to improve the energy efficiency of the organisation. -
BRILL Family Resource Centre CLG – €27,031.96
To fund the acquisition of new garden equipment geared towards increased productivity and capacity to better serve the community and service users. -
Lafcadio Hearn Japanese Gardens – €96,515
To fund a new cafeteria service area and the relocation and replacement of the reception desk in the centre and the installation of Japanese-style sliding doors. -
Waterford & Suir Valley Railway Company CLG – €97,000
To fund the building of a new extension to house a locomotive, as well as related works.
