Sinn Fein TD for Waterford, David Cullinane, is calling on the board of SETU to revisit the decision not to announce a headquaters for the University.

He said he was puzzled by their statement that and he fails to understand they don't see it as significant.

He told Déise Today a corporate headquarters is a value to any organisation.

"It does matter, it is of significance, and it's also important for Waterford to be seen as the key campus of the South East Technological University," Deputy Cullinane said.

Senior management and senior people from abroad are taken to headquarters when they visit, according to the TD.

He also made the point that any big institution has one.
