Sports clubs in County Waterford have been subjected to more anti-social behaviour and vandalism this week.

Kilmacthomas GAA Club says following repeated incidents of vandalism and anti-social behavior, the club will be installing security cameras and additional lighting on the grounds.

“We want our club to be a safe and welcoming space for everyone, and this measure is necessary to protect our facilities and ensure a positive environment for all,” a spokesperson said.
Damage was caused to the club’s dugout this week.

Meanwhile, in recent days, dugouts at Brideview United and Tallow GAA were also vandalised.
Damage was caused to the dugout at the GAA grounds, while the soccer club’s dugout was sprayed with graffiti.
Local Sinn Féin Councillor in the area, Donnchadh Mulcahy, described it as “soul destroying” for committee members.

“It’s a slap in the face for people involved in community groups to see such damage,” he told WLR News.
