Emergency services and ground crews are currently dealing with road closures this morning, January 28th following Storm Chandra.

The Inner Ring Road in the Kilbarry area near SuperValu remains closed due to flooding.

Diversions are in place with Waterford Fire Service working at the scene.

Waterford City and County Council are monitoring two roads which also remain closed today.

These are the R675 at Annestown, and the L5520 (Green Road.)

Those roads remain closed this morning with diversions in place.

Spot Flooding

Elsewhere, spot flooding has been reported on many roads.

Motorists have been advised to slow down, to increase stopping distances, and to be wary of surface water and debris.

Additionally, Waterford Council advise motorists not to drive through flowing or standing water.

If a road ahead is flooded, they advise road users to turn around and find an alternative route.

A reminder was issued in terms of vulnerable road users, such as pedestrians and cyclists when planning a journey.
