The results of the 39th Amendment to the Constitution have been released.
The first question put to Voters dealt with Article 41.1.1 and Article 41.3.1 of the Constitution – the family proposals.
The figures released for Waterford are as follows:

| Total Poll | 36,829 |
| Spoiled Votes | 439 |
| Total Valid Poll | 36,390 |
| YES Votes | 11,986 |
| NO Votes | 24,404 |
The above figures confirm the proposal has been defeated.

Results for the 40th Amendment, the Care Referendum, are currently not available at a local level due to delays from Dublin Castle. However, it is evident from previous local and national tallies throughout the day, that this has also been defeated.
