A total of €446,002 has been announced for seven CLÁR projects in Waterford.

The CLÁR programme provides support in some of the rural areas across the country.

Projects are aimed at building strong resilient and vibrant communities through the enhancement of existing community facilities and the provision of new amenities to support people across a range of services.

The funding announced today is in respect of Measure 1: Developing Community Facilities.

In Waterford, the Sliabh gCua Community Playground Committee (Ballinamult, Touraneena) has secured €99,000 for playground upgrade works.  Sliabh gCua St Marys GAA receive an allocation of just over €93,000 for renovation of a public outdoor toilet with wheelchair access, covered seating and the astro-turf surface.

Kilbrien National School has secured €57,109 for flooring, heating and kitchen upgrades while Rathgormack National School will receive €51,109 to enhance their play area.

The sports field at Modeligo Community Centre will benefit from €36,724 and there is €43,961 for ground upgrades at Ballysaggart GAA.
