Drink tea for MND, a campaign aimed at raising awareness around Motor Neuron Disease is taking place this month
More than 400 people live with the disease in Ireland with a death occurring every three days.
Tea events will be taking place across the country throughout the month of March.
Speaking to WLR News, Derbhla Wynne from the Irish Motor Neuron Disease Association describes how the disease progresses. She added:"
To explain to people what Motor Neuron Disease is, it is a disease that affects the brain and attacks the Motor Neurons or Nerves in the brain and spinal cord.
What that means is messages stop reaching the muscles and that leads to weakness and waste.
Organisations like ourselves the Irish Motor Neuron Disease Association come on board and help people with MND.
In order to do that we have to raise awareness and raise funds".
More than 400 people in Ireland are living with Motor Neuron Disease. Ireland records 1 death every Three days according to the IMNDA.
