Heavy rain and strong winds are leading to dangerous driving conditions in Waterford this morning.
Waterford is one of four counties in the south under a status orange rainfall warning along with Cork, Kerry and Tipperary.
Rainfall totals of up to 80mm are expected in places. The warning is valid until 9.00 pm tonight.
A status yellow alert is in place for the rest of the country.
Local authorities are on high alert for flooding. Waterford Council has left sandbags outside Machinery Yard in Dungarvan for members of the public to take.

A status yellow alert is also in place for strong winds, it will remain in force until 6.00 pm.
Gusts of 90 kilometres per hour have already been recorded at Waterford Aiport this morning.
Close to 900 homes are without power between Cappoquin and Dungarvan in West Waterford this morning.
There is also an outage affecting 26 customers in Gracedieu in Waterford City.
Crews from ESB Networks are working to fix the faults.
