A Waterford nurse says she is still dealing with the after-effects of Covid five months on.
45-year-old Susie Kelly contracted the virus in March however, she still has severe joint pain and chronic fatigue.
She says there's an idea among people her age and younger that it's just a bad flu and that they will bounce straight back.
"It isn't, it's nothing like a bad flu. When I was sick I made sure I had my will and my insurance papers to hand in the house in case I was taken out of there and I didn't come home.
"I'm still not right five months later.
"Young people who are getting it are not bouncing back, it's a lot more serious than anybody is giving it credit for."
Susie Kelly says there are massive complications with coronavirus.
"Nobody knows what is going to happen this winter.
"I just want people to understand that this is not a two-week illness. There are massive complications for you, for your health, for your children, for your ability to have fun, for your ability to go out to work and look after yourself. It's massive."
