Waterford is one of just four counties in the country not under a status yellow cold weather warning this morning.

The rest of Ireland - except for Waterford, Wexford, Wicklow and Dublin - has been under a snow and ice warning since last night.

Met Éireann has issued a nationwide advisory though, which says it will stay cold until Friday with sharp or severe frosts and icy stretches on roads and footpaths.

There will be some showers of hail, sleet, and snow, with the potential for freezing fog.

Temperatures dipped into the minuses once again overnight.

Drivers are being urged to leave extra time this morning and watch out for icy patches.
