A Waterford man says assisted suicide should be an option for people with life-limiting medical conditions in Ireland.
Fifty-nine-year-old Paul Flynn, originally from St John's Park but now living in Slieverue, developed MS after an accident in the early 2000s.
Paul is currently confined to his living room chair and has both legs amputated.
Speaking to 'Deise Today', Paul says he is effectively confined to his armchair - and his condition is expected to deteriorate.
He believes assisted suicide would be a practical option. He added: "It's not an emotional decision but a practical one. If you don't have a quality of life, what is the point in living?.
"You have to get some balance in the situation. There will be some suffering but if you had enough of some quality of life it might balance it out a bit and you could sustain that.
"For me, because I don't have many attachments, it's not an emotional decision it is a practical one.".
