Waterford Live Register falls below 7,000 for only the second time since 2007

The Live Register in Waterford has fallen to its lowest level in 11 years.
According to the Central Statistics Office there are now 6,805 people signing on in the City and County.
That’s down 15% since March of last year.
It’s only the second time the live register has dropped below 7,000 since 2007.

The Live Register is not designed to measure unemployment. It includes part-time workers (those who work up to three days a week), seasonal and casual workers entitled to Jobseeker’s Benefit (JB) or Jobseeker’s Allowance (JA). Unemployment is measured by the Labour Force Survey.
