A Waterford City hotel has been evacuated this morning due to a fire.
The evacuation is underway at The Tower Hotel on The Quay.
Emergency services are at the scene and have been bringing the fire under control.
The fire broke out in the kitchen area at around 10am.
An evacuation of all patrons and staff was initiated while work got underway to bring the fire under control.
Niall Curtin, Chief Fire Officer at Waterford Fire Station told WLR News: "Waterford Fire Service was alerted to a kitchen fire in the Tower Hotel at approximately 10am this morning. Fire crews have extinguished the fire and are in the process of checking the building. As a precaution the building has been evacuated. There have been no injuries."
